ine Arts Department John Marshall l-tigh School had much to ohfer this year in the tield ot tine arts. The Music Departments choral group appeared several times in the assembly. They also appeared on the program ot the lr-lighland Part Lilac Festival. The Art Department contributed a good deal ot tine worlc to the annual Scholastic Art Exhibit. Tom Kass toolf top honors by winning three gold lcey awards, while Meryl Galen, Diclq Sturm, and Sally Michael, along with others, each toolc one award. John Marshall had excellent representation in several contests held this year, the Scholastic Arts Exhibit and the lndustrial Arts Awards sponsored by the Ford Motor Company. ln home economics students learned the every- day essentials ot homelite. The elecreol s+uden+ Jrreas- urer, Barbara Cole, was responsible for lhe daily bank deposils. Several srudenr boolclceepers helped in record- ing, posling, and preparalion of s+a'remenl's and reporls. Our income 'rhis year was from profils on school dances, plays, The boolcsrore, sporfs, and +he S. A. campaign. This money was spenr for non-profil acfiviries such as mixers and 'rhe senior rea, and for 'rhe purchase of band and cheerleader's uniforms, awards, and equip- menl' nor provided for by rhe Board of Educalion.
