practical arts The practical arts classes in our school were not only tor tundamental training in a certain cratt or tor the tun ot it, but students were taught how to think in an organized manner and how to co-operate on the iob. Three ot the boys, Louis Acierno, Benjamin Lucitti, and Ronald Morales, won certiticates and cash awards tor their achievements in metal shop trom the Ford lvlotor Company. wood shop art department ln the art department the students were taught to express themselves in their tavorite media. By supplying pupils with brushes, paints. and helptul guidance, the prospective artists not only improved their drawing skill but enioyed the experience. Some ot the proiects this year were posters tor the various campaigns, art work tor the Scholastic Art Exhibit. photograms and sketches tor the yearbook. voice class Under the directions ot Mr. Singleton, vocal training was made available tor pertecting solo work. Through the use ot vocal exercises, proper control ot the breathing muscles, and recording tacilities. the singers developed poise and personality plus a well-rounded repertoire. metal shop I7 art
