J Associate Directors As the curtain went up we found the stage of school life well set hecause of the careful direction of lllrs. Barry. It was her duty to coach tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grade girls for their cues in the future. Her ollice was the planning room for dances, banquets, and many other student activities. Un- der her excellent guidance senior girls chose the roles for which they were hest suited. To llliss VanDelValle went the joh of casting. She met each girl entering lllarshall and helped her plan a program to suit the character she wished to portray on life's great stage. Social problems that arose among the cast were met and solved by her. lllr. Friel might well have heen called the make-up man at lllarshall for he added the touch of color to our school life. As master of ceremonies he ranked second to none and was often called on to preside at dinners. Like lllrs. Barry his job was to help seniors plan for their vocations. lt was one of Dr. VVishart's many jobs to see that the cast was ready for rehearsal on time and each morning a line of the tardv culprits might be seen outside his door. He also aided the Hstand-in suh frosh to prepare for their major roles as seniors and later as men and women of the world's theater. The behind-the-scene script writer in our production was our principal on leave, lllr. Snyder, who has been spending the past two years at the Board of Education working on revisions in the script of our school curriculum and methods of teaching. It is expected that he will he back in the director's chair next fall. 5
