Supply Officer ommander Thomas A. Rorex was born in Billings. Mon- tana He graduated from the University of Washing- ton with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Admin- istration. Commander Rorex received a Master of Business Administration degree from University of Pennsylvania ' s Wharton School of Business. Following graduation from Officer Candidates School at Newport, Rhode Island, and the Navy Supply Corps School in Athens, Georgia, he reported to Chief Naval Advisory Group, Vietnam, where he served as a Naval Advisor Com- mander Rorex then reported to the USS CASIMIR PULASKI (SSBN 633 Gold Crew) where he served as Supply Officer and earned his gold dolphins as a Submariner His following tours were with Naval Supply Center, Norfolk. USS FORESTALL (CV-59) OS Stores Stock Control Officer, Naval Air Systems Command as Business Manager for the F A-18 project, and Commander, Fleet Air Western Pacific as Aviation Supply Officer Commander Rorex then served as Comptroller for Commander, Submarine Force, Pacific before assuming du- ties as the Supply Officer, Commander. US SEVENTH FLEET. Commander Rorex ' s decorations include the Bronze Star, two Meritorious Service Medals, two Navy Commendation Medals with Combat Distinguishing Device, the Navy Achievement Medal, as well as other unit awards and cam- paign ribbons CDR. Executive Officer LCDR Walter F. Fitzpatrick III is the son of CAPT and Mrs. W.F. Fitzpatrick Jr. His tour aboard IVIARS stations him closer to his birthplace at the once Navai Hospital, Mare Island Naval Station than any thus for in his career. Commissioned in 1975 from the United States Naval Academy, LCD!? Fitzpatrick has been at sea 12 of his lost 14 years. He has logged eight deployments on four different ships covering the spectrum of surface v arfare. LCDR Fitzpatrick ' s first ship was the USS STER- ETT (CG-31) where he was assigned in various Division Officer billets from 1976 to 1979. From 1980 to 1982 he began the first of two Department Head tours aboard the USS MARVIN SHIELDS (FF-1066) assigned as Oper- ations Officer. He served as Engineering Officer aboard USS MOBILE (LKA-115) from 1983 to 1984. After taking his master ' s degree from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California, LCDR Fitzpatrick returned to sea. Assigned to the staff of Commander Middle East Force embarked in USS LA- SALLE (AGF-3), he deployed to Bahrain. There he served as Communications and Scheduling Officer from 1986 to 1987, a tumultuous year that saw a flare- up in the Persian Gulf War. In November 1987, LCDR Fitzpatrick reported aboard MARS as Executive Offi- cer. LCDR Fitzpatrick wears the Navy Commendation Medal and the Navy Achievement Medal in addition to other unit and service awards. He is married to the former Cathleen Rader of Washougal, Washington. Chaplain Iieutenant Bradford E. Ableson, Chaplain Corps, was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was graduated from Yale University with the Master of Divinity degree and completed his clinical internship at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa. Chaplain Ableson was commissioned an Ensign in the Navy Theological Student Program and graduated from the Naval Chaplains School in Newport, Rhode Island, Following ordination in the Cumberland Presbyterian Church he received a superseding commission in the U.S. Navy Chaplain Corps. Chaplain Ableson has served the Recruit Training Command, San Diego; REDCOM ELEVEN, NAS, Dallas; USS LEXINGTON (AVT-16); and Fleet Hospital, San Diego (DET 500 Combat Zone 21). In April, 1987 Chap- lain Ableson was ordered to Naval Weapons Stations, Concord, California where he served the Marine Bar- racks, and assigned Navy personnel. He reported to USS MARS (AFS 1) as Command Chaplain in February 1988. Chaplain Ableson ' s decorations include two awards of the Navy Achievement Medal and the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon. He is married to the former Julio Tevis Narz of Louis- ville, Kentucky. They reside in Concord, California. LT B.E. Ableson
