FGREWORD Amidst the multi-patterned background of war and peace, and by an amazing collaboration of chance circum- stances, the Marquette and her crew were created and sailed around the World. Who of you, at one time or another, have not dreamed of 'cgctting away from it all and taking such a trip as We have just finished. Perhaps you might then see some of the places and people you used to read about in the papers or in the history and geography classes back at school. You keep promising yourself that someday you will do itg but somehow or other you never seem to find the time. Along with those ofy-ou who will never be fortunate enough to realize these ambitions, we wish to recall again for ourselves our experiences and share them with you.
