History Our junior year was one of our busiest. We were more composed and confident than ever before. The officers we selected that year were: Paul Workman, President; Richard Morgan, Vice President; Delmos Barb, Secretary; Blix McNeill, Treasurer. Mrs. Moore and Mr. Francis McElwee were our sponsors. It was during this year that many of us received our class rings. Our first big thrill as upperclassmen was presenting the class play, Mama directed by Mrs. Moore. Other activities in¬ cluded the junior-senior banquet and that memorable junior prom. The year we had all been waiting for had finally arrived. We were now THE SENIORS! With Blix McNeill as President, Richard Morgan as Vice President, Sue Withers as Secretary, and Sandy Anderson as Treasurer we began the last year of preparation for the game of life. With the help of Mr. Charles McElwee and Mrs. Bailey, our sponsors, and Miss Ruckman, our yearbook advisor, we worked on the senior play, our own Marlintonian, the selection of our colleges and jobs, and the many other worries we thought were more important than anyone elses. There are few of us look¬ ing forward to summer vacation this year because we know that we will never again be a part of the joyous events of the high school years. Although we got on the teachers’ nerves more than any other class, we feel there will never be another quite like it. We know that these years have been the best of our lives and we will always be grateful to those who have pushed us on and made it possible for us to graduate in this most important year, 1963, the year of the West Virginia Cen¬ tennial. Before we go we wish to say: Thanks to all the teachers Who, we know, have had no rest; We’re very glad you hounded us And made us do our best. Although because of homework We sometimes made a fuss; There ' ll never be a greater class In all the world to us.
