JOSEPH MANNAOAN, VICE Principal TEL 485-8100 January 20, 1965 To the Class of 1965, As I write this, President Johnson has concluded his Inaugural Address as the 36th President of the United States. Optimistically, President Johnson forsees a prolonged era free of war and with an economy geared to a rapid expansion in the domestic market which will produce a better, a more united, and a more beautiful America than we have ever known. More and better education of all the people is a prime target in his program. As members of the Class of 1965 you are in the fore¬ ground of those who will be called upon, and who will benefit, by this great surge for knowledge, for understanding, and for peace. Be ready to accept any challenge thrown your way. May you live long, and may your lives be fruitful and full of purpose. D. JOSEPH HANNAGAN Vice-Principal 4

In addition to being the day of reward for many years of disciplined study and growth it is a day on which all of the years of learning start to become effective in the adult world. The years following graduation will contain serious challenges. Whether they are spent in organized study or in the world of work, each one will demand from you a measure of effort quite different from those of your high school career. May I wish you the best of good fortune as you build lives of service and dedication to the many things which you and your country value greatly. Sincerely yours. Dona ld E. Graves JOSEPH D.
