Pius Week Just as Rome was built on seven hills, Marist ' s spirit is built on seven days. These seven days are Pius Week , the week which St. Pius X High School had turned into a nine year tradition of victory over the arch-rival War Eagles. But every year, whether or not Marist has a winning season and in defiance of the winless history of Pius Week, the spirit of every cadet is at its peak. Bouyed by this spirit, the Marist football team this year was victorious over the Gold- en Lions by a margin of 13 to O. The victory not only spoiled the Lions chance of capturing most wanted prey, but won the Eagles recognition by the Atlanta Journal as the state ' s team of the week . Veteran Coach Charles Alexander addressed the pep rally on the day of the game. No-one was more aware than he of Marist ' s record in this traditional encounter. But still he voiced a seemingly dan- gerous confidence in victory.
