CLASS PROPHECY The year is 1980 and I, Chris Blackledge, have just returned home from the class reunion which the Senior Class of 1970 had planned before we graduated. We called the new owner of the AuSable Ranch to reserve the barn for our party and were surprised to find out it was none other than Robert Tower. We began telephoning our former classmates and started with Rew Robinson now working on the new plans for the space mobile--the Falcon II. Paul Scott, who is top taster for Big D, was next on our list. He said he would be very glad to come and would pick up Bruce Blevins, now a Master Sergeant in the Green Berets and his wife the former Karen Miller, and their 2 lovely children, named after Greg Crowe, who is the mayor of WayCross, Georgia, Sheila Fewless, who is his personal secretary. We asked the operator to connect us with the Rev. Frank Merton Blossom, who is a Missionary in Israel. He said he could come and stop in Spain to pick up the world renown Matador Mike Fewless. He then zoomed to Paris for JoAnne jackson a new model with the tall look, Mr. Ellis H, Sneary, governor of Hawaii received our next call. We had a little trouble locating the gover- nor. He was out for his daily dip in the ocean. Should you be driving out North of Marion, and come upon a big dairy farm, the owner will undoubtedly be Ronald Hyde. He said he would be glad to come and see the old gang again. The Long distance Operator next got us in touch with Captain Ed Nowland. He was sun bathing on the deck of his submarine, which incidently, belongs to the U. S. Navy. Viv Ashby now living in Flint is the owner of a hot dog stand and came to the party although she was a little bit late. lt seems it takes her a long time to get started after a long hard day. Charlie Bell who is the present holder of the trophy that they give away at the Indianapolis SOO dashed for the party in his little racer. He also brought along his pit crew Mark Hammar G Phil Hubble. Pam Coleman was a little hesitant to come because her rusty 1968 Super Sport had developed a slight tick. She did pick up a hitchhiker though, Dave Marr, who was again thumbing his way to an assigned news story on the opposite coast. Gary McCrimmon the new owner of the Copa Cavana agreed to come and brought his band, lead by Director james Doran, and his new go-go dancer Connie Krchmar. Due to unforseen circumstances and the new draft law, Sara Jonson and Debbie johnson, couldn't come be- cause they were in Sweden evading the Draft. Kathy Cook and Roxanne Pennese agreed to come quickly in the hopes of furthering their efforts as they are in nearby Cadillac where they run the New Salvation Army. Dawn Alberts and Linda Schepers regretfully took time out from their playgirl club and brought Diane Geyer and janet Coffing their best go-go-dancers along with their bodyguards Darla Brocht and Lois Hartley with them on their private plane. Even though there was a scheduled game, Bill Knitter left t.he Detroit Tigers just to attend our fabulous reunion. With a Ph. D. in Bio-Chemistry and Physics, Larry Lee agreed to come and speak to us on the main topic of the evening--The Sex Problems in the Ghetto. He also agreed to bring with him his faithful assistant Norm Maneke. We also contacted the New Prime Minister of Outer Mongolia, Robin Fordyce, who is presently engaged in the study of flower power in the Mongolian Desert. Judy Hamming taking time out from her six children and job with Dorle Speyer at Sun Up Acres brought her good common horse sense to our party. Liz jenema and Sandy Russell as Marriage Counselors in the Marion area welcomed the chance to take a Night off. Without further adoo, we contacted the F.B. l. as to the where abouts of Bill Bird, Paul Miller, and Pat Woodard only to find out that they wanted them as badly as we did. Last heard of they had left their prints on a bank job in Anchorage, Alaska. We also contacted a couple of Marions finest socialites, the former Dann Rockafellow who is president of the Twentieth Century Club and Denise Brocht who is the County 4-H Agent. The county Road Commission was able to give us the exact location of Dick Meyer and Sam Vokes as they have been plowing them out of the ditches quite regularly. Sally Ashby and Charlene Barber are still together, but not under the same circumstances, it seems that they joined the army and are ordering the men around left and right. Rosemary Alberts is stuck over in Germany, lt seems her husband is still playing Army. Chris Blackledge and Dana Pollington had great ambitions and made them. We located them in the UN building. . .sweeping floors. On their way there they picked up Barb Runion and Elain Peterson who are-currently engaged in inventing new types of disposable paper baskets. We located Marilyn Mosher at the Lady Clarol Plant. lt seems shes made her way to the top and has become the only lady scientist to find a cure for Naturally Curly Hair. With the diverse occupations of our class, we all wondered how the world had survived with us, It makes you wonder what the next ten years will bring. I wonder. . . 20
