K r , 1 Reunion of the Class of '28 LACY-The banquet hall lformerly the gymnasium! of Marion High School. Time-May 22. IQ53. Occasion-Reunion of the graduating class of IQZ8, Joe HaniiltonAFellow classmates. tonight it is just twenty-five years since we graduated from this high school. Many changes have taken place since then. Our old gym has become this splendid banquet hall. Some of our children are now graduate' of this school. Vkfe have traveled far down the road of life. Our paths have led into far countries and we have traversed many lands. Some of us have risen to the ranks of the famous. To me it seems most fitting that each beloved classmate should tell something of his life since that time. l shall call nrst upon Will Hildebrand who is at my right and we will proceed thus around the table. Will Hildebrand-It is. indeed. a great pleasure to be again among the comrades of my boyhood days. Often as l sit at my desk in Washington per- forming my duties as President of the United States. my thoughts wander back to dear old M.H.S. My life hs' been that of a politician. When that is said. all is said. Mrs. Will Hildebrand fRuth Fensterniakerl-l am just the wife of the President. Ralph Cokain-As l think back to those years in high school, and re- member my dreams of that far day, l recall how hopelessly distant seemed the goal which I had set for myself. A 'Castle in Spain has become a reality. l consider it a great honor to be esteemed America's leading playwright. Some of the members of this class are tonight presenting on Broadway my latest play Adam Cuts An Orange. Lewis Miller plays the part of Adam: Fairy Rinehart has the leading feminine role. Others in the cast are Burke Williams. Darrell Brandon. Cleoda Gray. and May Real. l thank you. Eugene Hamilton-This is one of the rare occasions which could induce me to leave my laboratory. As yet. I have nothing definite to offer. but l hope in a short time to have calculated the amount of green cheese that could be contained in the moon. Lawrence Sixt--l have just returned from a hunting expedition to the North Pole. Charles Callahan, Dale Carper. Wayne Cleveland. Robert Harreld and Chester Hedrick were my companions. We saw one or more reindeer and a bear. but due to the rapid settlement of the country. the hunting is becoming very poor. Robert Duke-The townsfolk of our northern settlement have sent me to represent them at this. our reunion. Earl Carey is mayor of our little city. Robert Gemmill is our attorney-at-law and Donnave Myers is his secretary. Mary Alice Caldwell is our social leader. John Flemming-I am the leading tenor with 'he Metropolitan Opera Company. it , Minnie Bourke-I have been associated with Esther Livengood and Martha DuBois is writing a book called Ettiquette for High School Girls. in The famous lecturer. Nora Nall. is to give a series of lectures on this subject to L' the girls of Marion High School. Richard Landgrave-I am a retired race-track driver. I made my money by winning a contest for the most reckless driver in the United States. iff, Harry Loop-I am editor of the. Wide World Morning News . I have on my staff. among others, Clifford Hardy, Marguerite Jacob, Floyd Pierce, ,ga and Donnell Weaver. Herbert Custer-I have traveled from Australia to be with you this even- ing. In my laboratory there I have invented many things. My best inven- tion is an automatic appliance for removing gum from one's mouth to the waste basket. John Tegarden is manager of my factory for manufacturing this article, Mary Broughman is his secretary. Robert Kuhnhein-Arthur Bollet, Erederick Brunka, Ralph Harreld and myself, have. as you know. just completed a non-stop flight around the world.
