The subject Psychology will be taught by Elbert E. Day, Superintendent of the Public Schools. This isn't school day. but were happy just the same. Hurrahf Marion defeated Kokomo at the Memorial Coliseum. Score, 21 to 22. Hurrah for the GiantsT Art Club held a business meeting today and the colors blue and gold were adopted. On adjournment of the meeting. refreshments were served in the cafeteria. Heard Andy Whitehurst and his Serenaders today. XVe enjoyed every bit of it. especially Andy's solo entitled Uliatinkan. FEBRUARY -We'll never forget the nrst presentation of the Cat and the Canary. How those girls shrieked. yelled and made noiseT XVe felt like getting that old cat. -Just found who the cat was. Yes, it was Forest Green. Can you imagine itf We were just shocked to death. Why couldn't it have been J. William Long or Ruth Fenstemaker? -Put up another mark for the Giants. They humbled the Huntington Vikings 43 to 36. We tell you, those Giants are getting good. lt won't be long until the Sectional. -Today is the beginning of a three-day's session of the Farmers Institute. Can't you hear those roosters cackling and those hens crowing? We can. -The concert band gave its first concert. lt looks as if the State Cham- pionship is in sight. Keep up the good work. Tut. -A few great men celebrated their birthday today. Among them were Ralph Cokain and Burke Williams. -Girl Reserves and Hi-Y were to give a play tonight. but we saw no play. Guess it was postponed. Oh well. we'll see it later. MARCH -Tonight is the first round of the Sectional Basketball Tourney. Watch Matthews. Giants. Marion won their first game with Matthews. -The tournament is on high now. We never knew there were so many pretty girls and so many handsome fellows in Grant County. We'll never forget that girl from Jonesboro. Just found out her name. Tough luck. Fairmount. You were good as far as you went, but you didn't go far enough. Marion defeated Gas City in the final game, Z8 to lZ, thereby Winning the County Sectional. On to the Regional, Giants. -Cactus sale is on under the direction of Ralph Blakemore. As in the past. the installment plan is found to be the most logical method of subscrip- tion. -Impressive services were held today for Otto N. Horner. principal of McCulloch school. -Marion lost their first game in the regional today. Ellen Houser gave a chalk talk-the dramatic classes presented The Death Watch of Caleb Stone -and Bill Coffman was absent. He had another engagement. -Signs all over town reading Wallop Wabash. That helped the Giants. They defeated Vvlabash-and howf -Everyone is freezing today. Sometimes we Wonder if it could be colder. We want snow. -Eirst basketball game of the year. Simultaneously. the Hrst defeat of the Giants. Vklinchester did it, Cheer up, Giants. Your day is coming. -Thanksgiving vacation. Going to the country for dinner? Imagine turkey. cranberry sauce, ice-cream and cake? Doesn't that taste good? Had dinner with Mr. V. A. Smith and talked about Trelawney of the Wells. Eorgot to tell you about its presentation Tuesday and Wednes- day nights November 22 and 23. It was an ambitious undertaking and a successful one. School has started again. No more vacation until Christmas. That isn't very far away. DECEMBER Last month of the year. Ralph Harreld is beginning to feel faint. Elmer Marshall spoke in general assembly today. His talk was well- liked. Cliff Hardy commented on it. Big Hi-Y pep banquet. Good eats, n'everything. Mr. B. H. Schnell gave the principal talk of the evening. Big Rich delighted the students with his humor today. Listen at John Haner laughing at those wise-cracks. News has leaked out that there will be a Senior Orchestra. Shades of Paul Ash! Who will be the leader? Special Christmas issue of the Survey to- day. The play Why the Chimes Rang was given by the Dramatic cfasses. -Vacation is on now in full force. Some are going out of town, others are staying at home. but it's vacation just the same. Merry Christmas! Happy New Year! No more school until 1928. JANUARY -Vacation is over. Time to use the gray matter again. -Senior Orchestra organizes. Now we have a chance to hear some r-r-red hot music. -l-ike all Fridays, this is the one just before Saturday. -Big special issue of the Survey today. And why not? lt's the day the big Memorial Coliseum is dedicated. School was dismissed at 2:30 in order that the students could attend the dedication exercises. Tonight. the game with Anderson. Yes. the Indians won-35 to 24. And Kendall has a new suit! -Bedford has come and gone with the long end of a 40 to 36 count, They had a tough time of it. at that. .
