The Marion County High School Savings Bank is made up of students from the seventh through the twelfth grades. Boys' State These young men were selected as outstanding leaders from the llth grade by the faculty. They were then accepted by the American Legion as our school's representatives to Boys' State, which was held at Troy State University in June 1979. During Boys' State, they and 600 more of the state's top high school leaders participated in mock legislative sessions and in mock elections of state officials. From these nominees the faculty selects lwnwil the recipient of this honor. The winner then attenda an honorary leadership seminar. which includes discussions of the issues of mf wgljllll-'J' leadership with prominent business leaders. This recognition is awarded in the llth grade. This year Greg McCollum won. 44 Knowledge Bowl The Knowledge Bowl is a scholastic competition between area schools, held at Brewer St. Jr. College in Fayette. It was held for the first time in February I979, and will become an annual contest. Our team was Jeff Sloan, Steve Stamps, Mickie Smith Cseniorsb, Leon Thompson, Greg McCollum, Mark Estes, and Charles White.
