QQE A new addition to the Home Economics Department this year is a dishwasher purchased through the F.H.A, project with the assistance of the Civitans. PRESENTING THE 1969 MARIONETTE Other new additions to our school include carpet for the library and carpet cleaning equipment purchased by the Beta Club I FOREWORD Memory is the treasury and guardian of all things. Cicero At 8:00 each morning another memorable day of experiences begins for the students at Marion County High School. Her halls echo with chatter about homecoming, exams, the Junior-Senior banquet, or Satu.rday's date. Some students think of school as only a drudgery and another day that must be completed, but the majority of our students use this time for learning, sharing, having fun together, and as an awakening for later life. An annual can often bring back many of these memories. With this 1969 Marionette, we hope that you will enjoy recalling many of these memories. ' 3 DEDICATION Our annual is dedicated to a person who is not just a teacher but a special friend. She has overlooked our forgetfulness, our carelessness, and our inconsideration, and has pushed us farther along the road to maturity. But most of all she is special because she not only accepts but understands our generation. For these reasons, we dedicate the 1969 Marionette to you, Mrs. Adair. 4 ADMINISTRATION MR. ROBERT G. By careful planning and budgeting, the Marionette does not cost the school anything. It is paid for by the advance sale of the yearbook and picture sales. All proceeds from advertising still go to the Beta Club for them to continue project to place in-door out-door carpet on all steps and landings leading into the school building. We expect this to be most beneficial to the over-all cleanliness of our entire building. Much progress has been made in the way of supplies, equipment, improved surroundings and teacher require- ments. All of our teachers have degrees and are teaching in their respective fields. Additional teachers have been added due to Federal program. We are humbly grateful for this progress and recognize that it would not be possible except for your encourage- ment, suggestions, criticisms and support. But we will not be satisfied until our students have had a taste of the best there is to offer in public education. I would like to commend the Annual Staff for the organization, arrangements and hard work that has been necessary for the publication of this excellent annual.
