A Message As we strive to learn from our daily education experiences, we are tempted to put off until tomorrow those things that we should do today. Suddenly we realize that the most difficult part of life is the everyday living. Much like liherty, education has a very high price to be paid in dedication, sacrifice, energy, self-direction, and loyalty to the future. Although the everyday little things, such as learning and lessons, friends and rivals, sunshine and rain, success and disappointment may seem insignificant at the time, they are the stuff of which life is made. They strengthen our convictions and make us determined to do what is necessary and proper; they prepare us to meet the challenges of life. To procrastinate is a natural tendency, but It can be overcome in many ways, one of which is courage. It is the type of courage the Class of l ' )73 will need to reach out for their life ' s greatest accomplishment ... it is the type of courage many Marauders display daily in being themselves with goals and reasons for gaining confidence in themselves . . . and it is the courage it takes to live manfully. To the graduates we all wish the very best of luck, courage, and faith in the future. We are sure they realize that what they are going to be tomorrow they are becoming today. I know I am much richer because thev were Marauders. Mr. CJMIies Principal Congratulations and best wishes to the class of 1973. We recognize that learning continues even though our formal education may have ended. The success that comes your way will represent many hours and days of your time. We feel y ou are a product of a fine educational program and hope your future will benefit from the dedicated instruction and counseling provided you. You now join the alumni of Mariner High School and we hope that every success comes your way. I o those that follow in your footsteps, we wish that the product of their imagination be fulfilled. Mr. Jack Campbell Vice-Principal

Administrators Cdiifiratulations on your t;raduatiiHi from Mariner High School. It is our fervent hope that each boy and girl has. accomplished his or her first major educational goal in life. The first plateau is often hard to achieve, but the first success breeds other successes. It is now your responsibility to chart a course that will prepare you for a full and productive life, one in which you can say with pride, I did m best and society is better for it. You, as voting adults, now have the opportunity and, yes, the challenge to make the .American Dream a reality for all citizens. No longer can we use catch phrases that say a mouthful but ha i- no meaning for all segments of our society. I challenge you to be doers and march forth with your heads high and your sights upon the goals that preserve and advance the dignity of all our citizens. Be positive in all you do but remember, the right to fail and try again is as fundamental to dynamic leadership as self-realization is to the American Dream. ou are the skippers of your own destiny and, in my opinion, you are ready to advance upon the course of life with the God-given ingredients to be a success. .As the laws of the land and men particularly the state assign mor( responsibility to the young adult, they mus be prepared to accept this trust. I arr convinced that the Mariner students ar( ready to accept this challenge. The 197: graduating class has given leadership to th( development of new programs whicl improve student relationships with adults: which demonstrate concern for others anc the environment; and which illustratt acceptance of responsibility for persona well-being. I congratulate those in th( leadership roles who helped to institute such programs. File Manner students will prove to tin communitv that thev can and do accept responsibility.
