Choir Top: Garret Bincks, Jenny Chaffee, Mike Chandler, Alice Boulter, Donna Dunn, Jeff Tysor, Julie Ellery, Linda Emde, Michelle Boettcher, Stacey Stendeder, Brook Adams, Mr. Pitt Bottom: Dixie Alexander, Mike Smith, Mary Medler, Karen Stark, Peggy Hurlebas, Michelle Hering, Mary Mix w 555, -ff 5 Officers: Dixie Alexander, Mike Chandler and Linda Emde The Marina Choir Club made its' debut ap- pearance in 1984-85. lt is composed mainly of some students in choir and Mariners or sim- ply those who appreciate music and the won- derful way it brings people closer together. The Choir Club sponsers the awards for Mari- na's vocal program, which are better known as Mariners and Choir. The club is very social as they held parties and a banquet at the end of the year. Their main purpose is to support the encouragement of vocal music on cam- pus and in the community. Choir Club did this by spreading the word of music and good cheer throughout the whole year and will con- tinue to in the future. Clubs 87

Any student of Marina High is eligible to join the Computer Club. While no prior knowl' edge of computers is required it is highly suggested that members be proficient in at least one computer language. Members of the computer club are eligible to be selected to attend a yearly programming competition. The Hackers meet every week to discuss new programs for upcoming competitions. Clubs 88 Chinese Chinese Club is a collect agglomeration of individuals with a common interest towards the Chinese culture and the Chinese heritage. We promote interaction between other orien- tal clubs on campus. There are no special requirements to becoming a member. The club meets approximately once a month in room lOl. Our advisor is Mr. Pope. We look forward to another year of exiting club activi- ties. We hope to have a larger membership in the future so we can make more people aware of the rich and fascinating Chinese culture.
