E S Spanish Spanish Club officers: Jodi Marcus, Rob Rosenblatt, John Lennertz, Pat Sariana, David Wolfson, Sheila Pederson. Marina's 1984-'85 Spanish Club was an excellent opportunity for students to learn more about the Hispanic cluture. ln order to become a member of this exciting club, each student had to pay a fee of two dol- lars, as well as have an open mind, a jovial personality, and a desire to gain knowledge about a different country. One did not have to be enrolled in a Spanish class to become a member of this club. Also, anyone could join at anytime during the school year. Ma- rina's Spanish Club was very busy organiz- ing many fun-filled activities for it's mem- bers' enjoyment. The Spanish Club, led by advisor Mr. Johnston, planned a Christmas fiesta, a visit to Olvera Street, bowling in Santa Ana, eating at Hispanic restaurants, participating in International Day, and sponsoring delicious bake sales, too. Being a member of this club was a great way to learn about an interesting culture while be- ing with friends who have similar interests.
