Candidates were nomin- ated by students at- large and were then inter- viewed by committee members. Selections were based on reasons given by students as to how they demonstrated the qualities of a good teacher. Winners were named monthly in the Viking Voice, principal's newsletter. Student Curriculum Committee members hope that the tradition will be carried on in the years to come. 64 When people think of Marina, they prob- ably think of students, activities, classes, and teachers. Llnfortunately, they usually fail to think of the true backbone of the school - the classified staff. Without these people the school literally could not run. From secretaries to cooks to custo- dians to clerks these wonderful people give their all to make Marina the outstanding school that it is. Pictured below are only a few of these people, all who worked for the school this year are listed on page 285. To all of you, we extend our gratitude for all you do. 4 Attendance records are verified by Eileen Burdg. 0 Head custodian Bob Duarte assumed duties mid-year. 'W-4 Academics I if :,, . . .f M.. E2 - ' A Look Ar The Past As our year at Marina comes to an end, we begin to look back at all the fun times and the sad times we all shared. Going back to all the football games, rallies, sales of all kind, basketball games, baseball games, and dances, we remember all the times we laugh, cryed, cheered, and thought the year would never end. Our friends that pulled us through the rough times and supported us through the happy times, we will always remember them. School has taught new things and has im- proved us on the old. We have explored new ideas and met new people that will make a great change in our lifes and hope- fully our futures. We should be grateful that Marina has guided us to become the people we are today. Friends were made for a lifetime. Countless hours were spent in the library Closing 266 Remember those small lockers?
