The P.E. Department has a winning team of teachers with an even larger team of students. Many students take a variety of classes that the department has to offer, including basketball, soft- ball, volleyball, swimming, badminton, tennis, and raquetball. Physical educa- tion can be an exhausting experience, but it keeps the students in top physical shape and healthy so they can perform better in the classroom. Each year P.E. classes become more difficultg however, P.E. is not only for physical training, but it is also to teach students about the subject of physical education. The Reading Department worked to help students read better. To do this the department offered classes designed to provide students with extra instruction in bringing their reading up to grade level. Through such courses as E.S.L., QEnglish as a Second Languagej stu- dents from a foreign country can also improve their reading and English skills. The Special Education program helps students with special difficulties get through school while still feeling a part of the total school environment.
