Vilnis Ezerins She blinded me with science. When it comes to science, one ques- tion always leads to another. lf viewing live paramecium or dissecting things from rats to grasshoppers is your area of interest, then your needs can be acco- modated in cellular biology or physiol- ogy. Other courses such as chemistry and the mind-boggling subject of phys- ics can also be found in our Science Dept. But don't mull over the complex- ities of genetics or the laws of physics, because our teachers' superb back- grounds and willingness to help will an- swer your questions thoroughly. Through the field of science everyday thinking is refined and sharpened. 'P , Q Ns f i X X Q. Q Q1 ms 3 - my Art Brown Marilyn Bunnell Wendy Gingerich Q ,,, i X is ., . . - + my . 1 -:- : r ,. The Social Studies department has always managed to maintain a high standard of education. The students at Marina seem to desire a high grade point average and the Social Studies department offers them such courses as CLS. History AP for juniors and World Geography Honors for the freshmen. So- cial studies has become an important part in our learning. More students take courses in this department mainly be- cause of the requirements needed for the colleges and the universities and also because they can learn the impor- tance of social studies in our society. To Mr. Pope, who teaches history and Eu- ropean history, social studies focus on understanding human beings and the so- ciety in the broadest sense meaning the global community called planet earth. lt teaches people in a democratic society to know how to think, how to judge an argument and evidence, and how to draw conclusions. The most important study in S.S. is the study of the people around us. 4 --mall Academics T Richard Cozad Claudia Love Bruce Osborne What do you mean you don't know where North America is?
