Dr. Lee Eastwood Interim Principal HJ ' Ms. Julie Mayer Assistant Principal QU Associate Principal 125 Mr. Leon Stoabs Assistant Principal Mr. Jim Lande Assistant Principal C25 Dean CU Mr. John Biere Director of Student Activities Mr. Mark Attebery Dean Q21 Ms. Doris Longmead Dean Academics This year was marked by several admin- istrative changes following the surprise re- tirement of Principal, Dr. Paul Berger, last June. While a committee went about se- lecting a new permanent replacement, Dr. Lee Eastwood left his job at the District Office to serve as Interim Principal, Dr. Eastwood implemented a Clean Campus Program which resulted in short Fridays ffive minutes off each period for clean cam- pus and 'long Fridays ffive minutes added to each periodj for dirty campus. The pro- gram paid off as the campus was awarded S1000 for being Most Improved in the district-wide competition. Other tangible effects of Dr. Eastwood's brief stay includ- ed completion of repairs on our leaky roof and introduction of a reprographics center on campus. Selection of new principal, Dr. Ira Toibin, was ratified by the Board in December. Dr. Toibin continued the Clean Campus Program and renewed the empha- sis on academic excellence that has long been a hallmark of Marina High School. The appointment of Dr. Toibin, who had been Associate Principal, had an impact on other administrative posts, as internal shuffling took place to fill vacancies.
