A Great Boys Gymnastics The Varsity, Gymnastics team started their season with flying colors. Like their first competition, they hope to be victori- ous throughout the rest of their season. Under the coaching of Farouck Mo- hammed, the team showed great potential in their events. With a lot of practice and time, the team members can exceed in such events as the rings, parallel bars, floor exercises and the vaulting horse. The members in the team who show the most outstanding effort are: John Trombley, Bill Stark, and David Shepard. Supporting the outstanding members by doing well in their events are Bill Bach, Linh Vu, Dean Fran- co, and Jei Lee. Next year, the team hopes to have a great season with seniors making up most of the team, and more younger members. The Junior Varsity team also hopes to have a winning season and to make the gymnastics team the best it can be. A Step Above The Rest Girls Gymnastics The Varsity Girls Gymnastics team was very strong this year because of its talent- ed members. They expect to battle their close opponent, Fountain Valley, for sec- ond place in the League. Coach Dave But- ler kept the team spirit and confidence high among the members of the team and made sure that they performed with the highest of their abilities. Some of the out- standing performers in the Varsity team were Jennifer Daza, Kim Gleason, Shawn Lamb, Sarah Pirch, and Kristen Burnstein. Coach Dave Butler also led the Junior Varsity team through the season. Their main goal is to place several girls in the league finals. The team's outstanding per- formers, Randi Zamora, Lisa Sullivan, and Michelle Barton, along with all of the junior varsity team members, plan to make next year's team the best that it can be.
