,bv- Spirit Week Activities Traditionally the week before Homecoming is called Spirit Week. The week began October 22 with Hat Mitten and Scarf Day sponsored by the Juniors. On Tuesday the Sopho- mores had Twin Day, and on Wednesday everyone dressed in Mad Plaid. Thursday the dress was A hoola skirt and flower printed shirts for the Senior sponsored Hawiian Day. On Friday the spirit at Marina reached A climax as all dressed in Semifinalist Denise Allen our school colors, Blue and Gold, At lunch in the gym was our Homecom- ing rally, where alumni performed and the five Homecoming Queen fi- nalists were introduced, Kristen hurries to wrap Skip, for the Seniors at the lunchtime activities. ogy e :Q O foo Q09 I i 104 Homecoming Excitement Builds Vw A Splash of Color was the title of Marinas i984 Homecoming and that is certainly what we saw on the night of October 26, The fes- tivities started with the pepsters riding around the field in a truck, getting the crowd excited and ready for the Homecoming event and game. Next, the finalists rode out in vintage T- Birds. They circled the field, and then each girl was introduced to the crowd individually. After being presented, the finalists rode to- gether on the colorfully decorated float. The evening was off to a terrific start and everyone was ready for the game to begin. The Marina Varsity football team immediately showed their skill and talent by scoring and keeping the lead throughout the first and sec- ond quarters. Toward the ending of the sec- ond quarter one could feel the excitement in the air.
