INTERNATIONAL SERVICE CLUB I. S. C. , International Service Club, is responsible for making the foreign ex- change students feel more at home while at Marina. This Worthwhile organ- ization also helps raise money to send students abroad. Students who Went abroad this year were Trish Waters, who went to Turkey, and Craig Chaffin, who went to Germany. Officers this year were Linnie Hughesg president, Ann Wells, vice-presidentg Debbie Rogers, Secretary, and Ellen Sung, treasurer. C, 5.13, CALIFORNIA SCHOLARSHIP FEDERATION The purpose of CSF is to recognize and reward academic achievement, and to foster scholarship, citizen- ship and service in the school. CSF has had evening programs featuring speakers, conducted the annual book sale, and contributed to the Dollars for Scholars fund. California Scholarship Federation also helped the school by tutoring students. Officers this year were Larry West, presidentg Trish Waters, vice-president, Lani Blodgett, secretary. 181

Pol Ris Being a service club, Polaris Club's purpose is centered mainly around help- ing their community and Marina itself. It's main projects this year were a potluck dinner for new members, caroling at nearby convalescent homes and having an Easter party for the handicapped. In serving Marina, Polaris members have ushered at graduation and served at various other functions this year. Pep clubs main goals are to sup- port the teams. They do this by painting banners, decorating for games, running pep assemblies, providing a cheering section of the members on the 50 yard line and taking care of the homecoming ac- tivities. Pep Club generally helps to pro- mote spirit at Marina and a school always needs spirit!! The pepsters help with Pep Club by giving the members themselves insentive. This year Pep clubs President was Lani Blodgett, Vice Pres.
