Ushering In Homecoming 1969 lA.l was the traditional bonfire on Thursday evening. Beaten by sledge hammers was the Lancaster Golden Gales, represented by a iunked jalopy. Friday night was set off by the snake dance through town and the stiff competition of the float contest. iB.i The unsuspected victory of the Sophomore float was announced preceding the opening kick-off. iC.i The pinnacle of the Home- coming festivities was reached at halftime as Charlotte Raybuck was crowned Queen by Kathy Hardman. KDJ Her attendants were Janice Badger, Diane Hickerson, Pam Meagle, and Diana Pabst, escorted by Ed Kimmich, Charlie Kremer, Mike Gulliver, and Jeff Adams, respectively. Dennis Kritzmacher escorted Charlotte. KEJ As Co-captain Bob Wurtzbacher congratulated the Queen with a kiss, the Tigers made ready to resume the battle with the Golden Gales. iF.i Although the Tigers fought fiercely, the third contest of the evening was won by Lancaster as Marietta suffered defeat, 14 to 7.
