YVC looked with awe at the Seniors and wondered when we, too, would achieve that goal. VVe passed junior high and as Freshmen and Sophomores began taking an active part in school activities. VVe were noted I1Ol only for our high scholastic stand- ing but also for the outstanding progress our members were making in music, sports, debate, and dramatics. In our Junior year, with increased conhdence, we presented to the students one of the best junior Proms in the history of the school, H. S. 45',. In our Senior year, the one to which all had been looking forward with happiness and regret, our class members with high rating had become leaders, and our teams had struggled and maintained the honor of our school. During our years at school, new members have come among us and old ones have left. We note their absence with sorrow for many of them are now in the service of our country while still more are destined to follow them. We are graduating and entering the world at one of the most critical times of its history. Thus it is that we look back upon old school days, regretting to leave them. We are indeed thankful for the careful guidance and kind understanding of our teachers as we stand prepared to take our place in the world and to do our part in bringing peace to mankind.
