Zaranto This city, situated in the arch of the Italian boot, came as a surprise to most. Taranto proved to be a rather large, sterile and cosmopolitan city. For those not content to sit in the square and watch the world go by, a tour to the city of Bari and, on the tour, some local caverns was offered. We got a good look at the southern Italian countryside, visited the church of the original St. Nick, and inspected the curious conical peasant huts, and tried in vain to enter a castle built by Swedish invaders hundreds of years ago. liareeloHa Downtown. We were fortunate enough to have a good amount of time in Barcelona, Spain ' s second largest city. Like of big metropolis it provided a great variety of inter- esting things to do. A tour through the city ' s museums, churches, and Gothic Quarter was outstanding.
