HOMECOMING 19 2 Trish Bayer elected Queen The senior members of the football team cast their votes for Homecoming Queen prior to the Pius X game and nominated Trish Bayer to pre- side over the festivities. With the announcement of the new Queen, the court and the fans, although numb from the cold, broke in to warm applause signalling their approval of the team's choice. Father Sacks crowned Trish and the cere- monies concluded with the Court making one more circuit of the stadium. The Marian Marching Unit enhanced the half-time program with a spe- cially prepared show featuring songs and dances of the Roaring Twenties. Approaching the end of the day's practice run Ioe Andru- kitis and Dave O'Gurek sprint to the finish. Mastering the art of self discipline and utilizing their tough training schedule, the Cross Country team under Coach Louis Coassolo went through a difficult season. Although the team won only two meets the desire to excel was always evident. The most satisfying victory came against Panther Val- ley with the Colts receiving a vocal backing from Marian students. Through dedication and deter- mination each member of the team realized his own goals and grew in awareness of the common good.
