Zellin, J V FOOTBALL Following a successful scoring drive, the Colt's kicking team runs downfield hoping to pin the opposition deep in their own territory. Tom Schilling struggles to the sidelines looking for open space for a long run. This year's I.V. football team, coached by Mr. Warke, compiled a hard fought 2-4-1 record. The team consisted of extremely dedicated players in- tent on improving their skills for future varsity competition. Instructed in new concepts of the game, the young Colts showed constant improve- ment and ended the final game of the season with an impressive victory. Approaching the end of the day's practice run Ioe Andru- kitis and Dave O'Gurek sprint to the finish. Mastering the art of self discipline and utilizing their tough training schedule, the Cross Country team under Coach Louis Coassolo went through a difficult season. Although the team won only two meets the desire to excel was always evident. The most satisfying victory came against Panther Val- ley with the Colts receiving a vocal backing from Marian students. Through dedication and deter- mination each member of the team realized his own goals and grew in awareness of the common good.
