The presentation of rings to the class of 1973 was an innovative as well as a traditional occasion. For the first time in Marian history, students had a choice of birthstone colors in addition to the dark blue stone. This break with tradition, however, changed neither the symbolism of the Marian ring nor the religious context in which the rings were received. The Ring Day Mass, celebrated by Father Whalen, focused on the significance of wearing rings and the qualities that a Marian student should manifest. Vince Hydro represents the junior class as Father Whalen, class adviser, The traditional turning of the class ring blesses the class rings. promises good luck and future happiness. I The junior folk group leads the student body in the music for the Ring Day Mass.

The world of imagination provided the theme for the class of 1973's Magical Mystery Tour. Decorations for the dance guided the seniors and their friends through the mod world of Peter Max to a fantasy zoo of soft, cuddly, stuffed animals. The large crowd en- joyed the music of CrossHeld and the se- niors proclaimed the evening a success. Mr. Holkovic and the Student Council merited praise for their efforts in organizing the class dance. it Iayne I-1erman's expression proves that Marian dances are enioyable as well as profitable.
