introduce students to foreign cultures i The language students at Marian accepted the challenge of making the tradi- tions of another culture at least partly their own. Guided by experienced teachers, they explored not only the linguistic mysteries of Latin, French, Spanish or Russian but also the customs and history of the country. Although learning a language can be frustrating at times, the rewards of even small accomplishments compensated for the hours of study.
