Class Histor August 31 1951 the year was started with 15 Wdear little green horns During the course of the yearwe lost nonnie white, Ronald Miller, but gained Carol Larson Of course, initiation was the first big event for us when initiation was over, neither freshmen nor sophomores were allowed any more class partl s the first semester At the beginning of the year we were quite shy, but it dldn't last long, we soon learned the bolder traits of our upperclassmen More gray hair for our beloved faculty' The sophomore yearwedropped Marylyn wetter, Dorothy Barlow, and Carol Larson This left us the 'all important thirteen H I march we lost Joe Means to Le Mars we remember this yearforall the partiesand get togethersuwehad Ourfacesbecame recognized 1nmanyS1oux City cafes nach trip produced a different place to eat Our sophomore year taught us all that w could have fun in high school without destroying anything or bothering anyone else we were used as an example to the uppe olassmen as well as to the underclassmen, for we had learned that th secretfofgoln far and I E we went into our Junior year as nthe big eleven W six girls and five boys This year many of the Juniors had their first dr1ver's license, an acquisition which promoted jolly times Our first happy occasionwasdecoratlng our floatforhomecomlng, next, clad in blue Jeans and white sweat shirts with Marcus Eagles on them, we went to Sioux City to the wrestling matches we were notlcedby the management and were announcedover'the loud speaker Later we went to the Green Gables for lunch Here we will always be remembered who could forget us? November brought our class play, 'Adam s Evening After nearly every rehearsal, four nights a week, we gathered in Lage's, had lunch, and gave Herman more gray hair After this we all jumped ln one car and terrorized the natives Next came our plans for the Junior senior Prom The entire group was permitted to go to Sioux City to pick out the things we needed for it This was the day our boys obtained their white sailor hats Then came the job of decorating for our prom This was really a wonderful time Ne were all very happy with the results of our Mardi Gras theme Seniors, Juniors, and under classmen enjoyed the whole even1ng's entertainment The rest of the year we spent day dreaming about what we w re going to do in the summer, however, away ln the back of our minds were thoughts of semester tests which we knew we could not escape The year was finished with a trip to Lake Okobojl Sponsored by Farmer's Co op Elevator 1 ! 7 .
