SOPHOMOEES Comic talent Sophomore Clint Hinkle has a talent that is something out of the ordinary. He writes stories for comic strips. He works for james Reade, the comic writ- er for Dr. What. Clint first became in- terested in comic writing while he was out one day with his friend, Chris Rier- son, at a shopping mall. They came across a man drawing comics. After suggesting a few ideas, the man, james Reade, asked them to write a couple of captions and said he would send them a free copy of his next book. They con- tinued to submit ideas, and they now write full-fledged stories, earning twenty-five dollars per story. The com- ic is starting to go nationwide, when this happens, they will each get six per- cent of the profits. lt's the weirdest experience of my life . . . It just happened by fate, com- mented Clint.
