Sita Q On October 20, for the fourth year in a row, Marcos de Niza held an out-of- state college night. Dr. Bill Fitzgerald sponsored the event which was assisted by the National Honor Society. The purpose of this annual assembly is to give students an opportunity to learn about colleges located outside of Ari- zona. The event was not restricted to those students who attend Marcos. Students and parents from around the valley were encouraged to attend. Over fifty colleges and universities, from Adams State, to the United States Academies, to Williams Wood were re- presented. Registrars and admissions officers from colleges around the country attended. These representa- tives spent the evening answering seemingly-endless questions. Financial aid admissions, and campus curricular and co-curricular functions were some areas of particular interest. Although the event was open to members of all classes, mostly juniors and seniors attend. Eric Peterson, one of the many juniors there, said lt's a good way to get started planning for my future early. Travis Wright was also enthused, It had a lot of information about a lot of great colleges around the country. Top: Marcos de Niza counselors assist in answer- ing general questions. ti lm T M l Q5 Mala, It is a Friday night at the football game. The crowd is cheering as the players take their positions after a touchdown. The awesome scoreboard is glowing in the dim light, revealing an everchanging outcome. As the team scores yet another touchdown, the crowd roars in excitement. This is the kind of spirit our school had at the football games last fall. In a successful attempt to have fun and pro- vide the players with encouragement, the students of Marcos de Niza High School displayed an abundance of en- thusiasm. The sale of Padre buttons, ribbons, and shirts also boosted school spirit. These popular items, sold throughout the year, showed students from our school and others just how spirited we really were. Numerous cheers also upheld school spirit. Students were heard yelling cheers such as P-P-P-A-D, R-R-R-E-S, P-A-D, R-E-S. PADRES go! and 1-2-3- 4-5, we don't take no jive, 6-7-8-9-10, back it up and do it again and even more descriptive of our school, We've got spirit yes we do, we've got spirit, how about you?!
