MW COE and FBL Provide Student Occupations COE fCooperative Office Education! and FBLA CFuture Business Leaders of Americal had a busy year concentrated with fundraisers and valuable work ex- perience. These clubs were distinct, separate organizations: however, when students were accepted into the COE program, they automatically became members of FBLA. The club members received wages and school credit for the work they performed. The pur- poses of FBLA were to make business students aware of business opportuni- ties and help them work toward a busi- ness career. Learning secretarial skills and receiving work experience in Tempe business offices was the pur- pose of COE. The officers for both clubs were Val- erie Savard, president, Thanh Daven- 'hp port, treasurer, Susan Cheatham, secre- tary and Elia Acosta, publicity. In re- sponse to what students receive from this program, Mrs, Crews stated FBLA and COE teach the student leadership skills, and through State Competition, offer the students the opportunity to compete with other students in busi- ness skill competition and receive rec- ognition for their ability.
