Speech and Debate Speak Gut Every Thursday morning at 7:15, the Speech and Debate Team met to pre- pare for upcoming tournaments. Of the twenty-five members, only ten competed in debates. Despite this, they did well. Their officers were Presi- dent and Team Captain Heidi Ann Maas, Team Co-Captain Barry Starr- field, Secretary Sheryl Howe, and Trea- surer Amy Offenberg. Selling bagels was planned, as were other fundraisers, to raise money for t-shirts, awards, cer- tificates, trophies, and the end-of-the- year banquet. In spite of not teaching at Marcos, Scott Weingart, Tempe Union High School District's Public Relations Director, still sponsors the club, be- cause he enjoys working with students in this area. r21fCf Top left: Speech and Debate Club.
