Bot- tom: The varsity Pom line performs to the tunes of the MDN Marching band. s I T o Pommies Make All-American The pom line instilled spirit in Padre fans, performing at spirit assemblies, during football games, and with the band at half-time. This year's Pom line produced two All - Americans, Senior Linda Rios and junior Lisa Cleland. Competing at the highest possible rat- ing, they were awarded a spirit stick and trophy. The Pommies practiced before school for an hour each day, going over new routines and preparing for future performances. Linda Rios commented that, Its a hard job, but it is a neat ex- perience to go through. You have to learn to get along with different types ofpeople, but in the long run they be- come your friends. The other All-American on the Pom line, Lisa Cheland, thought that, Camp was great. I had a blast. I met so many people from a lot of different schools. Our Pom line got a chance to win a spirit stick and a trophy.
