SOPHOMOEES Karyn Hargis interest in music may only be outweighed by her enthusiasm. Karyn a Sophomore, plays tenor sax- aphone in the band and is alto for aca- pella choir, where she also occasionally plays accompaniment on the piano. That s just for starters. This musical whirlwind has studied piano for seven years, so she plays whenever and wherever she gets that chance - church, talent shows, wed- dings and just for fun. The young musician enjoys singing, especially ballads and love songs, and Musical whirlwind will perform whenever she gets the chance. her career, for Karyn plans to major in music when she gets to college. This year, she tried acting, too, play- ing a dingy actress trying to get into a performing arts school in the musical Fame, presented by the Drama Depart- ment. Was Karyn born musical? It is just a part of my family she said. My mom sings in the church choir . . . W re all just very musical. She is musical - and enthusiastic. I I O I Even that's a toss-up.
