Student Council has in the past had some problems, but according to Stu- dent Body president Steve Colgate, the year was different. Council members worked to get students involved in school. The biggest change made by the council centered around the home- coming activities. After circulating a student-teacher poll the council decided to require float building to take place on school grounds. Making available a spirit night, which the senior class sponsored, for the floats to be paraded down Lake- shore Drive was an addition the Coun- cil made to homecoming. One Student Council member said, We wanted the community to see what was going on at Marcos. In charge of all elections was the Board of Supervisors, which is made up of members from Student Council and class councils.
