Girls' Varsity Finishes Third In Tough With Mike Byer as coach, the girls' varsity basketball team ended their season with a terrific record-14-5 overall and 12-3 for conference. In divisionals the girls first played San Manuel and won in overtime with a score of 48-46. Then they played Safford and lost with the score 48-30. l. Senior Kim Dobbie shoots for a basket. 2. K3 3 Freshmen Exhibit Attitude To Win The purpose of the freshman program was to prepare the first year athletes for future success on the varsity level by introducing the goals of the program and devel- oping the proper skills and attitude. This year's freshmen exhibited a very positive attitude toward the game and worked very hard to develop their skills. Unfortunately, due to tough competition the team's record 7-10 did not reflect its true character, according to Coach Videbeck. They lost four of their gamesby two points or less. QQXXEL A 5 New Coach Leads JV Through 8-6 Season The girls' junior varsity had an up and down season this year, ending with a winning season of 8-6. They had a new coach this year, Ms. Gibadlo, who was in her first year of coaching. The team comprised of mostly fresh- men-six out of the nine players. Future teams will seek action from these girls. I. Tracy Parsons jumps with a girl from Douglas. 2. Carolyn Bratton dribbles down the court. 3. Marana tries for a basket. 4.
