Food Service Club Keeps Marana Snackir The members of the Food Service Club worked hard to keep the student body supplied with goodies. They ran the snack bar by the cafeteria in the mornings and during break, accomodating the students with such items as hot chocolate, fruit pies and candy. In addition to this, the club had a special cake decorating business going throughout the year. So if someone has a special function planned, they could order a cake from the Food Service Club and have it all decorated for the occasion. Also, around the holidays they constructed candy cane houses to sell. Most of these fund raising projects were directed toward a trip to California. They planned to fly there in April to spend a few days at Disneyland. l. Students mob the snack bar during break in an effort to buy something good to eat. 2. Black Togetherness Builds Cultural Ties Black Togetherness's third year at Marana was highlighted by the design and arrival of their new T- shirts. The logo, designed by Jack Callahan of Distinct Impressions in Tucson, symbolizes the unity of blacks in the United States, the common roots of all blacks and the brotherhood of all people. Black Togetherness sponsored several successful events. A bake sale's profits were donated to Muscular Distrophy as well as money collected from aluminum cans. In November, the club held a dance which featured a disco contest and the beat of top soul disco tunes. During the basketball season, a group of the club's girls performed a dance routine during a basketball half-time. The group sold balloons the Student Council carni- val in March. All profit went toward a trip they planned for the end of the year. l. Black Togetherness members take time out from decorating for their dance to model their club T-shirts. 2.
