Difficulty overcome in Pygmalian Othello Pygmalian and Othello were two difficult plays pre- sented by this year's Drama department. Pygmalian was difficult because of long lines to be memorized and the dramatic blocking involved or the ac- tions the actors made on stage. Othello was in the same manner, extremely dramatic, contained difficult lines and had an enormous cast. Even the costumes presented some difficulty in that all had to be designed and made by hand by Mrs. Eason and Mrs. Davis. This year's drama finale was the musical, Fiddler on the Roof. A combined cast of 34 drama and chorus students coordinated singing, acting, dancing, and musical direct- ing by a Tucson Symphony member to present an excel- lent performance. 1. Othello, Sidney Thomas, pleads for strength from heaven to help himin determining fact from fiction. 2. Cast members of Othello pay close attention to a proclamation inviting them to a party celebrating Othello's nuptial. 5. Desdamona, Tina Smith, listens to Cassio, Doug Mifflin, as he asks her to plead his case to Othello. 6. Gregg Gladden, Colonel Pickering, greets Debby Smith at Mrs. Higgins house as Mimi White looks on. 7. Up with For the second year in a row, Up With People came to Marana bringing spirit and lots of fun. After arriving to Marana, Up With People were fed a international dinner and carnations were given to each of them. The cafeteria as well as the school was decorated with signs, streamers, and tissue flowers welcoming the group. The whole school seemed to be in- volved in seeing that the day would be a success. 1. Donnine Pierson welcomes a member of Up With People with a carnation. 2. Stunts like the one shown, were highlights of the performance. 3. An enthusiastic crowd joins in the fun. 4.
