Upcoming events as well as editorials dealing with the students were published. Second semester the publications staff was in- creased to nine members giv- ing them more opportunity to reach their deadlines and get more stories on all the activi- ties that going around school. Publications put out a school paper every two weeks. 1. Members of the Marana Timas staff are CFirst Rowb Becky Davis, Terri John and Teresa Terry. CSecond Rowb Char- lie Sundgaard, Tisha Spaulding, Mrs. Ludeke and Jill Jones. 2. Becky Davis concentrates on counting characters for one of the news stories. 3. Deadline dodging staff compiles yearboo The production of the year- book is the objective of all the members of the yearbook staff. They work hard all year long try- ing to meet deadlines so the yearbook can be handed out at the end of the year. Problems the staff deals with are getting layouts, captions, and copy fin- ished by deadlines. Another wor- ry of the staff is the selling of advertisments. These advertis- ments drops the cost of the yearbook. 1. Yearbook staff members are Diane Ev- ans, Kurt Venos, Summer Hawkins, and Charlie Sundgaard. Photojournalism works to complete assignments The photojournalism staff was new and inexperienced this year, which made it difficult for both publications staffs to meet deadlines. The photographers received a certain amount of percentage points for each photo assignment completed. These assign- ments were written by publications staff members of yearbook and newspaper. These three staffs had to coordinate to publish the journalis- tic material of Marana High School. 1. Julie Hennagir, assisted by Jo Ellen Oller, developes a roll of film. 2. Bryan Pierson copies contact numbers to complete a photo assignment. 3. Photo- journalism staff members are CFirst rowj Bryan Pierson and Julie Hennagir CSecond rowj Gary Ward, Mr. Sawyer, advisor, Don Kobayashi, Danny Ham- mond CThird rowj Gavin Nelson, Kirk Kazee and Kenny Botkin. 4.
