Included in the fine arts presentations were selections played by the stage band, songs sung by the chorus, and an art display by the art classes. Boothes that sold cheese cake and other goodies were set up around the commons area. Drama actors, from Othello, put on a sword fight and also a fist fight. lt was all fake, but it looked genuine. Spanish classes presented a full ten-course Mexican dinner. Participation from the elementary schools was a new addi- tion to this year's festival, and each child was given a silk- screened dragon picture as they visited the Art Department's display. 1. Some artwork resembled things? 2. Students admire the art work as they help set up displays and can't help touching them. 3. Frank Gonzales shows how most of the artwork came about for the Art Festival. 4. Stephanie Nelson looks on as Ralph Gonzales paints an original design. 5. Matmaids, mascots root Wrestling matmaids consist- ed of 14 rhythm-making, hand- clapping girls that cheer their hearts out for Marana's wres- tlers. The girls were chosen in mid- October. Their sponsor was Mrs. Claussen. Starting this year the school purchased uni- forms and allowed matmaids to attend all wrestling invitation- als. Antics by the mascots helped the pep squad raise crowd spirit at athletic games. 1. Serving as matmaids this year are QFirst Rowj Debbie Abate, Tammy Hen- dricks, Allena Synder, Cindy Criss, Kerri Thorne, Tammy Omstead, Sum- mer Hawkins and Maurene Polashek. CSecond Rowj Thersea Simington, Lena McKnight, Monique Bernauer, Sandy Garthiere, Marcie Bindhammer and Lynn Travis. 2.
