Decorated halls, trucks selves liven Spirit Wee The student body joyfully participated in Spirit Week. Each day a different class decorated the halls and campus with posters and streamers. Friday, Oct. 28, students again competed in decorating trucks, and gathering wood for the bonfire. Boy cheerleaders bounced around, arousing cheers from the student body. The final result for the week was a senior victory. Costume day caused many strange sights: Uncle Sam, Chiquita, A County Mounty, Smokey the Bear, and an elaborate display of Kiss. On clash day, studnts, teachers, and administrators, joined in on the fun. The week ended with a dance sponsored by the Black Togetherness and Awareness Club. 1. Juniors work on their truck. 2. Juniors have fun hanging their sign. 3. Boy cheerleaders lead the crowd. 4. Mr. Grissom can't figure out why his band isn't serious. 5. Terry Terry joins in the clash scene. 6. ociety honors merit aids young readers i f H O National Honor Society are a unique group of stu- dents who in order to be chosen by faculty members, must have shown leadership in school and commu- nity activities. ln the first semester of school, the members of Na- tional Honor Society sold posters. The money that they raised went to buy honor cord for the seniors to put on their graduation gowns. Thirty-five new members were added to National Honor Society in a tapping ceremony which took place December 19. The new members are Lori Adolph, Lori Bellmeyer, Ken Botkin, Cathy Brannock, Stacy Brown, Sylvia Chavez, June Copenhaver, Karla Davis, Sherry Eshpeter, Barbara Fischer, Monti Green, Beverly Hogg, Wayne Jackson, Charlene Loustaunau, Debbie Mapes, Ricky McDaniel, Cindy Nuckolls, Terry Nye, Kelly Patton, Maurene Polashek, Leanne Post, Laura Rockhold, Jessica Samuelson, Maria Sanchez, Lauri Singleton, Debby Smith, Heidi Smith, Steve Somer- ville, Lynda Speer, Becky Taylor, Teresa Terry, Roz- anne Thompson, Beth Triphan, and Mimi White. The group also became involved in the national RIF CReading ls Fundamentalb program. They provided 3 books to each of the district's fifth grade students. 1. Members of NHS are CFirst Rowj Nancy Henson. Carolyn Federoff, Dee Ann Davis, Dolores Schall and Steve Young.
