Carnival brings fun, excitement for al I 1 Marana High's 1977-78 carnival was held March 31 on the football field. This activity involved the clubs and classes in school. The money the clubs made was put into their treasuries and schol- arship funds. There were approximately 35 booths, ranging from the traditional dunking booth, to the fortune-telling booth. MAA had a dinner before the carnival and Key Club sponsored a dance afterwards. Maria Sanchez and Perry Wingate, representing the Junior Class, were crowned carnival queen and king during the dance. 1. Teresa Terry prepares for splash-down in the Band's dunking booth. 2. Denise Dewey and Claire Woods work at the ring toss booth. 3. Peggy Gilli- land sells flowers for French Club. 4. Tony Weite- kamp and Pat Kelly offer entertainment for the carnival crowd. 5. Maria Sanchez and Perry Win- gate win carnival queen and king title. 6. Sammy Soria and Mitchell Anders prepare for a rebound. 7. A Marana student bobs for apples. 8. Seniors escape routine for Phoenix tri Seniors traveled to see Arizona's lawmakers in action at the State Capitol in late April. They had a quick tour of the capitol building which was under- going renovation and sat in a heated house debate over the state's judge selection system. Following this they spent a wild, wet two hours in Encanto Park. 1. Annette Holt and Lynda Kuykendall see the threat of an on- coming canoe. 2. Seniors wave gleefully at onlookers on the shore. 3. Rick Patton and Doug Mifflin brave the wilds of Encanto Park. 4.
