Kittens' talents begin to develop The Marana Kittens ended up with a 3-6 season. Even though the re- cord didn't end up very well, they had a lot of spirit. Due to their aver- age size in comparison to the other freshmen in cnference, they had to fight hard and they never gave up. Under coaches Chris March and Danny Catt, the Kittens depended upon their small but tough line, and the running ability of Gene Lemme, who was named outstanding of the team's members at the awards ban- quet. ' Q 'bfi ,r N Marana's junior varsity football team who could only be described as super- spirited, turned a previous two-year mark of 3-12 into a 5-5 break-even sea- son. According to Coach Ludeke, this group, with the returning varsity play- ers, has the potential to capture the AA crown next year. They knocked off sev- eral powerhouse teams, including Can- yon Del Oro, Douglas, Flowing Wells and Nogales. 1.
