96 MAA Title IX brings male club members The girls' Athletic Association started the year off with a change in their name. They changed their name from GAA to MAA in order to com- ply with the Title IX ruling on sex discrimina- tion. The club met every Tuesday and Thurs- day at lunch. The members played different sports such as badminton, volleyball and kick- ball. Participation and victories earned points to give members a letter. The group also sold socks and sponsored the carnivaI's Mexican dinner. 1. Barbie White sells a pair of athletic socks to Sheryl Ward. 2. Members of MAA are CFirst Rowj Gail Paterson, Denise Dewey, Dee Ann Davis, Barbie White, Jessica Samuelson and Debbie Leslie. They raised money lots of different ways, like having bake sales, dances, and a facultyfstudent basketball game. They got to go to the State Fair in October, and they had a club trip at the end of the school year. Uncle Sam Club helped high school students to prepare for fu- ture jobs, such as nursing, secre- tarial work and police work. 1.
