It is from learning of defeat and victory that manhood is derived. The boys tasted the bitter arid the glorious. A step toward the future was taken; a step which the heroes will and can never forget. In striving to bring only the best written publications to the students and patrons of M-R.H., the reward of such excellent products coincides with membership to Quill and Scroll, the Maplewood chapter of the international honor society for high school journalists. The members are chosen by Miss Joanne Kilsberg and Miss Diane Downing, sponsorS'Of THE CHIP and the MAPLE LEAFS, respectively. Besides reaching the necessary standard of excellence the journalist must be in the upper third of his junior or senior class with a B or better average in journalism. With this award as an added incentive it is hoped that the junior journalists will be the professional writers of tomorrow; as the leadership we develop here is used on the next step of life. . . . let there be light. As couples danced in Neptuneis Garden, one more step became a memory. The maids and jacks from whom the king and queen were chosen the night of the prom stand for the friendships and bonds formed in the past four years. With a glance back at that past step, the graduates of 1967 recall their social life highlighted by the last of their high school proms. Could the girls ever forget the evening preparation for the prom; their long dresses, and special hair dds? This was the first time for the boys to dress formally. Corsages, favors, and a court are the factors of any such event, but for the seniors it was a very special and very memorable dance; the last dance for the Class Of 1967. The paradise remains as a touch of majestic swirl in the M-R.H. social life.
