Delsa WE WA TED GOOD CITIZEN SHIP Do you take advantage of all the opportunities you have of being courteous to your fellow students and teachers? Wle, as members of Girls' Board, are constantly watching the actions of students, for during the year we give out awards to the most courteous girl and boy of each class. They are chosen on the basis of such things as attitude toward others, character, and ability to handle responsibilities. At the end ofthe year awards are given to the most courteous boy and girl ofthe en- tire school. Girls, Board consists of fifteen girls, three represent- ing each grade. YVe became members by the vote of the girls in our respective classes. As members, We have many responsibilities. The Christmas tree seen in the auditorium lobby each year is decorated by us, the bed- ding in the clinic is cleaned by us, and many problems that arise during the year are brought before us. Our oH'icers, Carol Milkovich, President, Carole Delia, Vice President, Marilyn Brown, Secretary, and .lanice Kus, Treasurer, deserve credit for the hne Way they handle the meetings. Miss Bernice VViltshire, Dean of Girls, and Miss Carole Jacobs, of the English De- partment, proved they are very concerned over our welfare by their guidance as our advisors. One of our big events of the year is planning the an- nual semi-formal. This year we called it The Cinderella Ball and chose a Cinderella to reign over the dance that evening. The evening was a great success to the delight of everyone. XVe hope that through the years we will all remember that we can be better citizens by being courteous and by handling our responsibilities to the best of our abilities. Auld BACKBO E BEHI D THE SCENES Four years ago I became a member of a service organization called the Stage Crew, and up to now have not regretted one full-packed minute of it. It is not only a service organization for the school, but a help to us, because we learn while we work. We learn to produce sound effects, to work with metals and wood, to wire, fix furniture, to set and operate auditorium and stage light- ing, to set up and operate public address and amplifier systems, to build and fix sets, to change scenery between acts ofa play in a hurry, and many other things vital to a stage crew. Wle are boys in grades nine thru twelve, who are interested in working hard, in wanting to learn, and in having fun doing it. XVe like to work with mechanical things, and most of' us have taken up the industrial arts courses being offered in our school. We work not only during plays, assemblies, etc., but also during our free periods, for at least one of us is on the stage at all times, including before and after school. YYe work as a team, doing anything that needs to be done to make a show a success. The gang and I also work for other programs that might take place in our auditorium, such as PTA meet- ings, Boy Scout meetings, and dance recitals. Our advisor is Mr. Dale Myers, who teaches industrial arts and drivers' training. Our crew captain is Bob Auld, whose interests lie mostly in working with the proper stage lighting.
