We peek into a little room at the Slde and see more pupils sitting on high stools working with clav The clay grows swiftly into beautiful and graceful shapes under the skillful fingers of the modelers A boy s1ts at a Window drinking 1n the sparkling autumn scenery He dabbles a brush in paint and spreads the colors harmoniously over the rough suiface of the paper His ha11 falls into his eyes-he does not pause to brush it away but paints on unnoticing. At last he pauses With a contented sigh the picture 1S done During another period the students pour diligently over great volumes, drinking in the lives of Michael Angelo, Raphael, Leonardo da Vinci, and Titian, marveling at their Works. Speer! Test and All .llislriluuv Co1111.tcfl.' COMMERCE THE staccato clicking of typewriters produces Waves of sound as the fingers of many typists race over the keys. Long rows of future stenographers, intent faces evidencing the determination to train minds and fingers to act quickly and surely, practice earnestly in preparation for speed tests to come. The flying fingers of the students dance over the keys set upon the goal of sixty Words per minute. In another class, there is the low mutter of disturbed voices as sheets of yellow paper are given to each person. Gloomy faces bend for a last minute over texts, the Word test sweeps around the room. There is a hush as the teacher dictates Word after Word, While alert minds try to translate the Words into shorthand. A commerce class down in the basement is a Waving sea of hands, and stormy answering of questions. A lively discussion rages on investments, loans, and budgets, as pupils attempt to figure the rate of interest they Will have to pay.
